Terms and Conditions for Competitions

These promotions are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.

“I feel good competition”

  1. The Promoter is Fry’s Group Foods (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”) 
  2. The promotional competition is open to all South African Residents who are over the age of 18 years and in possession of a valid identity document, except the Promoter’s associated companies, advertising and promotional agencies, any person who is a director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant to the Promoter or is controlled by the Promoter or is a supplier of goods or services in connection with this promotional competition and their immediate families.
  3. This promotional competition is open from 9am 19th January 2013 and ends at 12pm (midnight) on 31st July 2013 (“the closing date”). Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
  4. To enter, participants will be required to send a tweet through their personal twitter account, and include the hashtag #IFeelGood and the Fry’s Family Foods twitter handle @FrysFamily. Entries that exclude either the #IFeelGood hashtag, or the @FrysFamily handle will not be elligible.
  5. Prize: 1 x winner will receive R10,000 in cash and will have their winning Tweet printed on 100 Holmes Brothers T-Shirts. T-shirts will be auctioned off and all proceeds will go to the charity of the winners choice. Charity must be registered in South Africa with a NPO or NGO number.
  6. The winner will be selected from all eligible entries by the Promoter or its agent. The winner will be notified by telephone/email on Friday 16 August 2013, where the winner will be required to verify their details. The organisers will endeavour to contact the prize winner once every day for 5 consecutive working days after their name is selected and leave a voice message, if possible to do so, if the winner cannot be contacted. However, if they cannot be reached and do not return the call within 24 hours of the last voice message being left, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules.
  7. The prize is not exchangeable for cash and not transferable.
  8. The Promoter reserves the right to use any qualifying tweets on its website and Facebook Page during the course of the competition/promotion, and after the competition has closed.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right to use any images, copy, tweets, and television footage taken of the winner, as well as any information submitted by the participant in their entry for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without further remuneration being made payable to the winner. However, the winner has the right to object to the images and other material being used by written notification to the Promoter at 8 Ficus Place, Mahogany Ridge, Westmead, 3608.
  10. The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice.  In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents. 
  11. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value.
  12. Participation in the promotional competition constitutes acceptance of the promotional competition rules and entrants agree to abide by the rules.
  13. The Promoter assumes no liability whatsoever for any entry that has been omitted from participation for any reason whatsoever. The Promoter is not liable for any technical failures affecting the participation and/or prize redemption process of the promotional competition.
  14. Neither the Promoter, its agents and distributors nor any of its associated or subsidiary companies, directors, officers or employees shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant.
  15. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Fry’s Curry Cookoff Competition – Terms & Conditions

This promotion consists of 3 phases:

  1. Phase 1 – Recipe Competition
  2. Phase 2 – Reader Voting
  3. Phase 3 – Finalist Cook-offs 

Phase 1 – Recipe Competition

  1. Anyone can enter by submitting a completed entry form with recipe before 21 April 2013.
  2. Entry forms are available at participating stores and online (www.frysfamily.com)
  3. Entries must be dropped into the box at one of the 10 PARTICIPATING STORES in Kwa Zulu Natal :

- Shoprite – Chatsworth, Phoenix, Mount Edgecombe
- Checkers Hyper – Shallcross, Gateway, Galleria
- Checkers – Queensburg
- Pick n Pay Supermarket – Queensburgh
- Powertrade Cash & Carry – Gaterite
- Take ’n Pay Food Town – Chatsworth.

4. You can enter as many times as you like.

5. Entry deadline for Phase 1 is 21 April 2013.

B) Phase 2 – Reader Voting

  1. 12 finalists will be selected from valid entries submitted in Phase 1
  2. Finalists will be submitted at the sole discretion of the promotion organisers.
  3. All finalists agree to their name , photograph and all recipes being published.
  4. All finalists agree that their recipe may be published by Fry’s for any time period
  5. Finalists for Phase 2 will also receive a hamper from Fry’s. T-shirt, cap, small shopping bag and R150 voucher.
  6. Finalists will have their recipes featured in either the Rising Sun or Phoenix Sun.
  7. Readers will are invited to vote for their favourite recipe.
  8. To vote, readers must SMS the 5 digit code associated with their favourite recipe to 33720
  9. SMS cost R1.50 each.
  10. Voting closes 16th June. 

C) Phase 3 – Finalist Cookoffs

  1. Four finalists will be chosen based on SMS voting.

a)     Two finalists from Chatsworth store entries

b)     Two finalists from Phoenix store entries

2. Phase 3 consists of two Curry Cook-off events with Masterchef Deena Naidoo:

          a)      29th June – Phoenix Plaza

          b)     30th June – Chatsworth Centre.

3. Two finalists will be selected from each area to take part in the cook-off events.

4. Finalists will be notified seven (7) days before the cook-off event.
5. The dates of the cook-off events are subject to change.
6. Should the finalist not be able to attend the cook-off event in their area, the entrant with the next highest number of votes will be invited to participate
7. One winner will be selected from each of the two cook-off events.
8. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The winners of the cook-off events (Phase 3) will each receive a year’s supply of Fry’s vegetarian food to the retail value of R5000, be featured in either the Rising Sun or the Phoenix Sun.
10. The prizes will not be exchanged for cash 

Fry’s Vote & Win - Terms & Conditions

Finalists in the Fry’s Curry Cook-Off competition will have their recipes published in Phoneix Rising Sun and Chatsworth Rising Sun.

2. Readers are encouraged to vote for their favourite recipe.
3. To vote, SMS the 5 digit code associated with your favourite recipe to 33720
4. SMS cost R1.50 each.
5. You may vote as many times as you like.

6. By voting you will entered into a random draw to win a Fry’s Hamper.
7. Six hampers will be given away by Fry’s Family over a period of six weeks. One winner will be chosen every week.

8. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. Winners will be contacted telephonically on the number which they SMS’d from.
